Is it hard to raise Seahorses apposed to freshwater fish.  Like Angles, corydoras or orandas.

What is the best site to learn from and order from.

Heya ,
I've been into saltwater for a couple of years now and have concidered seahorse's. I don't think I would put them in a "main" tank . My idea is to put them in the refugium. They would have everything they need but nothing to harrass them.
Just an early morning thought .

Seahorses are very difficult to raise. Before I owned AnglefishUSA I use to own SeahorseUSA. But I imported all of my seahorses from SriLanka. They were farm raised and taught to eat frozen foods.  Very few are successful at breeding and raising seahorses.  IF you just want to keep them as pets, and you get some that are already accepting frozen food, it shouldn't be too dificult.

I want to thanks for the comments on the seahorses and the fast responce I received.  I think I might like this site you at least get an answer. I will have to cut down on fish I have and do alot of reading & get help before I try the seahorses.  I just lost one of the most gorious marble veil angles this morning.  His body was the size my palm and the veils and fins were so long, I have his mate which is a white marble.  I think they were trying to spawn as they were in the corner for many days cleaning the slate.  Woke up in the morning and he was gone, it just made me sick.  Boy sure miss seeing him/her in the tank.  I have had no spawnings yet.

Yes, seahorses are very hard.  I've done it before, would do it again but it is a lot of work.  if your water's off by the slightest bit they pass
